Ok, 5 hours of madness in the plane.. pure pure madness.. i have never felt so crazy when flying b4.. i just... couldn... stop... talking!?!? oh no.. there is definitely something wrong with me..

1 year in perth.. 1 year older.. 1 step ahead.. 2 more years left

Really enjoyed my post-exam programme that i had over the last week! Basically.. my week was packed!

Touchdown...... Singapore!! woots..

after a day of drowning my sorrows to get over Australia's loss agaisnt Italy.. (seriously man.. Australia shld haf won it!!! .. zzzzzz ) Im finally back in Singapore..

Well, i had a warning previously... while in the plane.. heard the captain speaking through the intercomm: "
Welcome to Bright and Sunny Singapore with temperatures of 31 degrees....."

31 DEGRESS!!!! WHAT?!? When i left perth 5hours back, it was only like 5 degrees? One long sleeve shirt was enough to make mi perspire.. zzzzzz.... "Welcome to Singapore"... what a warm welcome... literally..

ok im not going complain.. cos i love Singapore! Lots of Stuff to do.. Lots of pple to meet.. Lots of Food to eat.. and Lots of Soccer to watch.. now to support the last underdog in the world cup! - Ghana!! GO GHANA GO! haha..

Currently having exams. Kinda depressing that I am being depressed not because of exams but because most of my friends and now back in their home country.. I miss Singapore

Sucks being me right now.. seeing all my friends leave one by one.. (will see them again next semester though).. Those that are still around tell me how happy and relief they feel having completed their exams.

World Cup Fever clashes with exams (GO ENGLAND!!). Trying my best to sacrifice study time for soccer matches.. ( bad idea especially with ur fav matches are at 3am.. Sorry dear for that night.. my bad.. will never do it again )

hai.. damn depressed now.. me go study.. Never take Information technology and systems.. blardee depressing.. (no offence to those who like the unit.. zzzz)

the ONLY thing i can look forward to is my flight back to Singapore at 7:45am 27th June...

53rd Month Anniversary

Feel blessed to be able to celebrate my 53rd Month Anniversary wif my gf..

We had dinner at Tiamo's, a kinda high class cafe dat serve really good food which makes the high price justified by the food.. i had Seafood Marinara.. Gosh.. it was filled wif salmons, prawns and mussels.. ooooo.. mouth watering isnt it..

3 months! 3 Long months!

Well, 17th of May will officially be my 4th month in perth!

Wow, 3 long months in perth! But den again.. see how time flies.. it was like only ytd that i left singapore. Hai~ the word "Singapore" juz makes mi think back of the many things i miss back home! Here's a list:

1. Parents
2. Friends - OCS Delta Wing, Sispec Bravo Coy, PLMC friends etc.
3. Food!! - Asian Food here CMI.. really
4. Cheap stuff - here things are too expensive! (except girl's clothings) =P

Things i dun miss in Singapore:

1. Weather (lol.. its so cooling here, winter coming)

Thank God for seeing me through these 3 months.. Thank God for blessing mi with good friends around me, especially Faith Church friends.. they are a really nice group of people!! Im juz so glad that im able to adapt so well despite the fact that im all alone in a foreign land. Praise God for that.

Something that i juz found out is, i haven't inform the readers of my blog that my gf is here in Perth wif me! she came exactly one month ago! Well, for those who r curious.. yes, she is the same gf i haf the day before i left for Perth.. (*grin) (she juz slapped mi head.. *ouch) (and again)..

Haf been going out wif her shopping for many occasions.. Oh boy, i juz wish u people can see the amount of clothes she bought in Australia.. u can juz faint! and she persuaded mi to buy clothes for myself too.. but i must admit.. the clothes are quite nice.. haha

We went to Fremantle on last friday. But because of some unforseen circumstances, we reached there only at 230pm.. (we had to leave there at 5 cos we had a dinner appointment at one of our church friend's place.) We didnt do much shopping but the highlight of that day was not shopping.

We walked past "Timezone" (the arcade) in Fremantle and saw a soft toy grabbing machine.. since my hands were abit itchy.. i went to try haha.. and guess wad.. i caught a limited edition Winnie the pooh soft toy!! (got tag to prove) Trying out my luck.. i continued playing.. and in total.. i caught 4 soft toys, all limited edition ones.. and 1 small "Blue Clue" dog which i haf no idea wad that dog is.. but my gf says it is a cartoon lol. total i spent abt slightly over $20 to get myself 5 soft toys.. it was MY LUCKY DAY! haha!

Hey people!

im back again.. sry that i haf been MIA for the past few weeks, apologise for that! The exam stress is coming back to me, and it has been a long time since i last experienced this feeling.. usually my feelings were, shagged, sianz from army life.. now, its stress and sleepless nights! Argh! wad a change.. but seriously, i definitely prefer the latter! No more army life for me.. for now.. haha

Im hafing mid semester exams this week.. 2 in fact and 1 next week! Friday and Sat! Cant believe i haf exams on the 2 days in which i dun haf school! (remember that i haf a 4 days school week!) Wish me all the best ya? My so called first exam in 3 years!! Army has degraded my brain to a certain state i dun wish to descibe! so the exam is a challenge for me to see how much my brain is left. haha!

The weather here is turning cold! Juz had my easter camp over the easter holidays! It was a blessed time of fellowship and to know God's Word better! The camp was situated on top of a hill, so temp easily went down to single digits in the night!! Coooolllllldddd... bbrrrrrrr.... Thankfully, we had campfire every night.. it was indeed a wonderful time! (pics will be up later!)

Wah lao, everything in Perth is so freaking ex!!

I discovered this shocking fact since day 1 when I touched down in Perth.. Hai, worse still when the Australian Dollar is stronger than Singapore Dollar.. sobz.. This is one thing that im still not used though I haf been in Perth for like 5 weeks now. Let me list u some things as examples.

1. Bus Rides 0.80 0.55
2. Textbooks 120 60 (omg!)

See the contrast? Gosh, studying in Perth will make my parents broke! Must start to save le. So far, my financial records shows that I already spent 1.5k AUD *faints.. not including accommodation, if wanna add accomdation, I think so far I spent 3k. lol.. accomdation is like damn ex in Currie Hall (the residential college near my UNI).. I pay AUD 263 a week! Of cos, wif 3 meals provided per day, and housekeeping service.. (housekeeping, not room service!). If u guys are gud wif maths, that equates to abt AUD 35 a day! Gosh.. that’s really expensive!

Right now, im trying my best to save, well, there are cheap stuff in perth. Like electronic goods, well, most electronic stuff! Other than that, I cant think of any cheap stuff here.. oh yes… booze and cigarettes are cheap here.. but I dun booze nor smoke.. so it doesn’t affect me.. lol

Other than that, im doing fine here! So peeps out there dun wry abt me. Im a big boy now.. lol

Single Major, Double Major or Triple Major???

Not really sure wad i wanna do.. hai.. dunno if i can cope.. im not exactly the smart/genius type.. though i can be hardworking at times..

I dun wan to be contented wif a degree of a single major.. i prefer to haf a colourful degree in which im specialise in many fields of commerce.. hai..

hope some people can gimme some advice on wad to do..

Enrolment sucks.. Me and my friends went there early.. at 830am.. though it stated that it starts at 9am.. when we went there.. there were already like 100 over students there queueing up.. talk abt kiasu singaporeans.. guess the culture of being kiasu among singaporeans can be seen in UWA haha. There were queues everywhere.. from getting advice from the course adviser, to getting the Dean to sign our enrolment forms, to getting our pictures taken for our student campus card, to summitting our enrolment forms.. gosh.. think i spent 6 hours queueing up the whole day..

the worst part wasnt over.. I was given one day to draw out our own timetable and choose which lectures/tutorials/lab lessons we wanted.. no more in sec school/JC where the timetable is planned for u.. in UWA, we r being treated like an adult (a very common phase by our seniors when we asked them for help.. sigh) by the time i finished wif the messy timetable.. it was already 9pm..

That was my 2nd day at UWA.

ps. i planned in such a way i might haf a 4 day work week in which i would be free on FRIDAY! woots!

Im finally in australia.. wow. the feeling is really really different here.. The time has finally come to be even more independent.. (as if the army hasnt made me a MAN yet!)

The feeling of hafing to fend for myself, coming to a foreign land. wif no kin nor friend is really a scary thought.. But no choice.. im here to study and get a degree... i haf no choice..

Leaving Changi Airport was kinda emotional.. my mum cried.. so did my gf (i think). parting them was really difficult.. only God knows what lies in the future.. I juz haf to leave things to God and He will take care of them for me.

Touched down safely at 1425hrs on 17th FEB.. had to wait there for abt 2hours to wait for the other international students to touchdown so that the UWA driver can drive us all back at the same time. in the mean time.. i went to get a phone line and a international calling card.. in the 1st hour after touching down in Perth.. i already spent AUD100 dollars already.. gosh.

Met other singaporeans and malaysians at the airport.. quite nice people.. haha

Im currently staying in Currie Hall, a hostel near the UWA campus.. 5mins walk away from campus in fact.. its really convienent.. haha people around here are nice! very friendly.. made alot of friends here.. i do haf a clique here now.. a group of 4 people.. really nice people 3 singaporeans and 1 cambodian.. haha.. really expanding my social circle here..

juz finished my 1 day orientation. wasnt that spectacular.. watch this space for more updates of my life in Australia.

CNY 2nd Day

After a long day of playing gim-rummy... i managed to pluck myself out of bed at 1030am on the 2nd day! Had to go visit a close friend of my parents.. something we do every CNY. Auntie Bebe is her name.. and she cooks EXCELLENT porridge! haha.. oh man! Every year.. i juz look forward to visit Auntie Bebe for her porridge.. its damn nice!

Marilyn and her family were there too.. (oh ya.. this is the first time i mention abt marilyn.. so a little bit abt marilyn.. she is my childhood friend.. since.. 1 years old?. i think. lol.. thats how long we know each other.. basically.. my parents and her parents are like close friends..) back to CNY.. love Auntie BeBe's food.

We stayed there till abt noon.. before they proceeded to my place.. (they always do that after visiting Auntie BeBe's house) After that.. we started to play "buan luck" haha (blackjack - for those who dunno wad im talking abt) Marilyn lost really alot of money.. around $40.. and she was like sooo sad.. haha. cos she was juz boasting abt winning $58 the day before on blackjack.. haha.. and of cos.. i won.. some of her money. haha..

Well, i see her only once a year..(suppose to be 2 or 3 times.. only she knows why.. haha!) so there was alot of things for us to catch up.. Had a great 2nd Day of CNY which ending playing Gim-rummy at my grandma's place till 330am!!! gosh! haha

CNY 1st Day

Hey peeps, Hows ur CNY coming along?.. 3 days of CNY has passed.. how time flies while u r hafing fun! haha

Today is the fourth day of CNY.. its no longer a public holiday.. so most of us are back to camp/work.. excluding me.. i only go back to work tmr.. well.. 6th FEB would be my last day in the army before i disrupt for overseas studies.. for those who still doesnt noe.. im gonna go Perth to further my studies in University of Western Australia (UWA). Taking Accountancy.

1st day:

Felt sooooo much better. the cough stopped.. although the flu remained.. it was slightly better. didnt had to blow my nose as often as the previous day.. went over to my grandma's for lunch. Lots of pple turned up! . at least 30 i think.. i haf a big family.. haha.. which is something i love! why?. cos big family = more ang pows! lol. im damn money minded.. haha.. didnt do any visiting on the 1st day as usually ... 1st day of CNY i always stay at my grandma place.. why?. to gamble of cos! haha! My family doesnt haf the tradition to play mahjong.. we always play gim-rummy. (something similar to mahjong though) played the whole afternoon till night.. wif dinner as break of cos.. haha! At the end of the day.. i lost $10.. which is not bad le.. cos i was losing $40 in the afternoon haha.. by the time i reached home.. it was already 2am.

The time of the year has come again...

What time izzit? (Not its not Tiger time..) Its time to collect ang pows and gamble!! woots! haha. and the best thing is.. We all haf a long weekend break! whaha.. how can one feel sad abt this?..

Wishing ALL Happy Lunar New Year!

Well, my CNY didnt start on a good note.. yes, i was clearing 1 week of leave juz b4 CNY, so compared to others, my break was 1 week longer.. but juz b4 CNY, on reunion dinner that day.. i fell sick. gosh! wad a time to fall sick! had the cold and cough.. and was blowing my nose the whole day! Since my dad is a Malaysian, every year, my family would haf to travel to JB for reunion. The worse part was that my family made plans to go shopping over there the whole day b4 making our way to haf our reunion dinner!! argh!! i couldn enjoy the shopping at all!! To make matters worse.. my gf came along and i promise to keep her company to shop.. no choice.. had to bring along a box of tissue wherever i go.. poor thing right?.. i still managed (barely) to buy a LEVIS jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt. Found out that buying LEVIS in M'sia can save u up to 40SGD as compared to buying in Singapore. My girlfriend bought the most.. which included a LEVIS jeans as well, (since it was cheaper than Singapore, who could resist not buying one?)

Really wanted the day to end fast! cos i felt really bad. bought clarinse and felt a little better.. but still.. i juz wanted to rest.. reunion dinner was ok.. nothing really special (of cos.. wif "bao yu" which my gf took ALOT.. and i mean ALOT! , buay paisei.. lol) Did some catching up wif my M'sian relatives and at around 10pm.. we aheaded back to Singapore. Thank God there wasnt any jam on the way back.. i really really wanted to rest.. haha!

Well, yes.. i organised another class gathering.. this time.. its my primary school classmates.. u must be wondering.. "Wow, primary school still got keep contact?".. haha.. alot of pple asked mi that when i told them that i am organising a primary school class gathering..

getting everyone's contact number was tough.. at first. i only had 2 contacts that remained in my hp! (thank God they didnt change their number.. lol).. from those 2, i managed to expand my contact list by getting numbers that those 2 knew.. and so on.. haha.. from there.. i got a total of 24 contacts out of 26 classmates that i haf in primary school.. haha.. wad an achievement! lol... im quite proud of myself for achieving that feat. lol.. most of my friends totally lost contact wif their P sch classmates. haha

i started planning this 5 weeks in advance.. therefore, they cant give the excuse that they cant make it (wif the exception of last min things cropping up etc..) The response that they gave was quite impressive.. out of the 24 contacts that i had.. around 20 of them said they could make it.. the other 4 not really sure.. well, it was a gd start.. but we all noe that its always easier said than done..

had a wonderful time getting to know my primary school classmates better.. very very long time nv see them already.. haha.. we started gathering at kovan mrt at 130pm.. when i reached there around 120pm.. i saw Peiqi already there.. wow.. im not the first.. was so afraid that the response may not be as gd ... like the last class gathering from JC. zz. after a while.. abt 6 turned up.. the rest would be late.. we proceeded on wif bowling.. and the rest started to come.

haha not bad.. the first game. u noe wad. i had my personal best of 132 pinfalls.. woots! to the professionals.. 132 is.. yuck!.. but to me.. its pro.. lol.

the weather didnt look good.. really.. it had been raining for the past 5 days.. usually in the evening time.. i prayed.. and prayed.. hoping that the rain would stop.. (how to BBQ in the rain?). It was still drizzling when we all made our way to my condo. was kinda feeling demoralised. but guess wad.. the skies cleared the moment i reached home! Thank God!

We had a nice BBQ. food was good.. we even played games.. some lame ones.. like "The Animal Game" lol. some JC orientation games we all played.. this shows that everyone is still young at heart. haha. oh ya, they came over to my place to play indian poker.. lol.. the forfiet was like so... yuck!.. the 3rd and 2nd lowest card had to lick a scoop of ice-cream and the person wif the least value would haf to eat the whole scoop.. haha!. everyone started to go home at around 1130pm.. i had a really really nice time..

stupid weiloong.. ask mi to organise another 31/02 AJ class outing.. like the previous one wasnt bad enough.. still wan to go to MindCafe play boardgames.. hai.. quite demoralise to organise another one after the response the other day.. invited 20 over pple.. 5 pple turn up.

crap. well.. since im leaving for Australia soon.. i will do it.. (wif some help of cos.. *grinz)

Well, i organised a class gathering on 26th DEC 05. The plan was... everyone to meet at 130pm at Douby Ghout MRT. Go MindCafe for a boardgaming cum lunch session, and haf dinner after that... i started planning for this.. hmm.. last week of NOV.. gave everyone abt 3 weeks to make themselves free... initially.. i had abt close to 15 to 20 pple that intended to turn up on that day.. was quite skeptical at first.. but i had to wait till 26th to noe if they show up..

true enough.. one by one, they started to turn mi down ...

Anyway, things started off badly, before that, i met weiloong at serangoon mrt.. and was supposed to meet lihui as well, but because lihui was late, and i was the organiser. i couldn be late and told lihui that mi and weiloong would proceed there first. Sadly, he got annoyed that we didnt wait for him.. and he turned back... zzz. We reached there at 135pm.. 5mins late.. At that time, i was thinking,

"die, late liaoz. everyone is gonna be angry.."

quite sadly, mi and weiloong were the first 2 to arrive.. first came shirleen and reine.. but they came at 155pm.. was quite happy to see them turn up, at least they bother to come, some didnt even inform me whether if they will turn up or not.. making mi wait for them in vain. Had a dilema.. to wait or not to wait.. if i wait, they may not turn up.. if i dun wait.. and they turn up, they might get angry.. hai~ being an organiser is never easy..

in the end.. a total of 6 pple turned up.. which included me, weiloong, dajie (yiru), sarah, shirleen and reine. Things didnt turn out that bad..we really really had alot of fun playing all the different kinds of games, while hafing food and drinks. Sarah was... uncontrollable.. haha. she was like yelling at her top of her voice, (occasionally accompanied by the four letter word).. haha. really funny girl.

most of the time.. we played Taboo.. the whole group agreed that it was a gd thing that it was a small group.. at least we all got to interact wif one another and got to know more abt each other.. something that we didnt get to do in AJC.

Spending Christmas.. literally

Wah lao, $200 gone. Eh Christmas is not good for my pocket. haha.

Went christmas shopping wif Dex at Taka.. damn crowded man! Never liked shopping, but since Christmas is abt giving and recieving, i haf no choice.. its nv easy to buy presents.. Mum, dad, brother, auntie, gf, friends... headache! took abt 4 hours b4 decided buying the presents for all those mention above. Made a bad decision doing my christmas shopping 2 fridays before christmas.. abit last min. haha! But still.. spent abt $200.. thats how i spend christmas.. lol. i noe its lame..

but. my christmas started out wif Church Service at 9am.. It was Christmas service.. Pastor gave a very gd and meaningful sermon on the value of Christmas. Den, after service.. spent a hard time finding the pple to pass them their christmas cards.. in total, i wrote abt 38 christmas cards.. but i brought back 5 .. quite sad that i didnt manage to see them in church.

den, we went to play bowling.. well, mi, my gf, dex and charl wanted to.. but the bowling ally was booked for some competition.. so no choice.. change of plan.. we went to play pool instead. Fukai, eugene and nigel joined us soon after.. some pics i took during that pool outing.

After pool, mi and my gf went to get her Samsung E760c phone aka the Swing Swing phone.. when we reached compass point, we found out that we could use the $100 voucher at ps. so we rushed down there.. but were turned down.. as they say the $100 could not be used at ps. zzz we were mis-informed by the customer care service guy.. Feeling pissed, my gf blasted at the manager ( i had to cool her down a few times, well, i kept my cool, as usual.. ). Thankfully, we were served by a very understanding manager named Janet. She is damn nice.. help us check this check that, and my gf finally decided to get another phone.. anyone wanna guess wad was it?. later than i say.. lol.. Also, the manager gave us priority to get THAT phone.. no queue number, juz ask us go look for this eric person and he will attend to us immediately.. (mind u, the waiting time for the queue was 1hour 15mins! *faints.. if we had waited... we would haf felt more pissed. ) so in the end.. we went down to the starhub shop.. and got the phone after doing the admin stuff.. which phone?.. hmmm... shld i say?

had dinner had a newly opened 24hr HK Cafe near Kovan MRT.. food was good and cheap.. very very Hk-ish. noodles were nice.

ok things didnt go as planned. hiak hiak.. but.. as they all say, the show must go on.

lucky, the army thought me how to adapt to last min changes and make last min decisions. haha. ok well.. i had 5 days to prepare a brand NEW idea of a birthday celebration..

things i did to get ideas:

1. seek friends help - no use, too cliche
2. surf mindef eForums - abit helpful, but involve alot of money (Candlelight dinner in a sentosa cable car?! What in the world.. $269 per couple *faints.. )

ok.. the #2 worked. got the idea of doing up a powerpoint presentation of our relationship over the past 4 years. 13th Dec 2005 marks the 4th year of our wonderful relationship.

At first, my first impression was.. hey, doing up a ppt presentation so easy.. no kicks.. one night can do finish.. which was the reason why i only started the presentation 3 days b4 my gf's birthday. ---> BAD IDEA....

Found out that it was very time consuming to dig out our pictures taken during our 4yrs together in my com.. (my com stuff is very very disorganised) hai! <-- got to do something abt it. zz Also, doing up the animation and the order AND type of animation had to be important.. and you noe wad.. the night before her birthday, i didnt get to slp a single bit. wanna guess why?.. hai!, yup, i took the whole night trying the complete the 44 slides ppt. Complete means colour, animation, timing.. and lastly, song.. yes.. song.. Choosing the song is also important to go wif the presentation.

i found that the presentation was quite well done... at least, in my opinion, it was. haha. Can't imagine i was so creative to do such a thing. lol

The whole celebration was simple.. of cos.. the highlight of it was when i took half day leave juz to rush home to get my laptop out so i could bring along for dinner wif her at Fish & Co. at the Glasshouse.

weird that she didnt cry after watching the presentation.. i tot she would.. hmmmm.. somethings wrong... lol.

Anyway, i celebrated my gf's 19th Birthday on the 18th Nov, (shit! now everyone noes when her birthday is!!!). As her bf, of cos i must plan on doing something right? a surprise mayb?.. well, ok i had lots of ideas..and i even started thinking of it since the end of SEP!! thats how much of initiative i took to plan her birthday (<--- take note hor dear... )

Stick Paper Cranes hanging down on her room ceiling, do it when she is at work and surprise her wif a bdae cake in her room.

^----- everything was going according to plan.. till.. 1 week b4 her birthday.. my boss arrowed mi to attend a meeting on the 18th of Nov itself.. thus, LEAVE NOT APPROVED! wth.

Idea #1's effort done: Specially offered to do 1 weekend and 1 weekday duty on top of my 1 weekend 2 weekday duty regimental over the months of OCT and NOV to fold the cranes. Folding rate: 8 cranes every hour. <--- ya ya.. i sux at folding!

Idea #1 wasted: all the duties i took willingly.. all wasted.. i haf abt 100 over cranes flying around in my bunk.. zz some on the floor.. some on the bed.. some under my bed.. eh.. wait a min. think i saw some flying out of the window! zzz

okok.. nvm. now. i had 1 week left to think of another idea and come up wif a surprise..

w3ll, i juz came back from an "excursion" from newater plant in Tanah Merah.. (damn far right?) actually.. i wasnt suppose to go! cos only high flyers (schol-ars... smartiess.. big shots) supposed to go.. of cos, im not a high flyer.. duh.. juz a normal NSF.. but because my OC lure me there.. i tot i was "invited".. being a nice OC, i "trusted" him and tot that he would like mi to go and enrich myself wif a newater t3chnology.. since he was involved in organising the big shot outing.. (even big shots haf field try okayy.. haha)

we took a 30mins car ride to a ulu (ok not so ulu, juz next to Singapore EXPO) place. reached the visitor centre... and saw this huge water fountain outside the centre.. immediately.. i asked my OC.. "Sir, the water from recycled urine izzit?" as usual, he laughed (my OC can laugh at anything... =X) .. we were the first to arrive there (duh, we were part of the organising committee, of cos haf to be first) and immediately, my OC tasked mi a job ("wad the heck?!? i got a job to do?!)

i knew it! things was too gd to be true, and i tot i could get away from camp and go for an "enriching" knowledgable field trip... well.. i kinda expected sai kangs.. ("dirty jobs") haha.. anyway... i was tasked to stand under the hot sun.. and marshall the big shots to the visitor centre.. ok la.. i must admit.. i got shelter.. but the sun was still making mi sweat!.. ok.. perspire.. haha make it sound nicer..

throughout the introductory talk, mi and my OC only had one objective! ATTACK THE FOOD!!! haha.. refreshments were provided.. dats why.. =x.. mi and my OC love to eat.. haha.

throughout the whole newater tour, apart from learning how newater is being made.. i also learnt 2 things:

1. there are 4 national taps. Johore imported water, natural catchment area, newater, and the recently launched.. desalinated water.. (salt water la.. )

2. there is this pretty.... irritating virtual tour guide.... she kept saying.. "Faaaaanntaasticc" .. its super irritating...

anyway.. on the way bag.. i was sooo happy to receive a goodie bag.. cos it meant FREEBIESS!! to my dissapointment... guess wad was inside.. yes.. a bottle of newater.. and some megazines.. zzz. haha..

anyway.. my OC wants me to write this in my blog.. so.. i shall say this.. my OC is a nice OC.. treated me cab fare back from Serangoon Central. that was so nice and thoughful of him.. haha! =X hope i dun kenna sign extra.. haha.. blogging these days can be VERY VERY dangerous..

Well, for those who doesnt noe where the Bottle Tree Village is, i dun really blame you. Before i visited this place, i didnt even noe this place existed. We made plans, my gf's family wanted to bring the whole family, which included me (*grin) to Bottle Tree Village for dinner to celebrate my belated birthday. Well, everyone was excited as this place was recommended by my gf's mother's friend's friend's friend's.. .ok stop.. juz one friend. We all had the impression it was a western style "high class" (or mayb slightly above middle class) restaurant by the beach! (Sembawang Beach to be exact)

Travelling there..

only one mode of transport.. either u haf u own private transport, or u walk in... for those planning to walk in.. one word.. gd luck. i think it takes a person 1 hour plus to walk from the nearest bus stop! Its really ULU... well, i thought to myself.. since its beside the beach.. oh ok.. it has to be deep inside. Travelling in unlit roads really reminded me of my time in PULAU TEKONG searching for checkpoints!!! really scary. haha. lucky i was in the comfort of a car! not so bad, no SBO, no fieldpack on me.. phew!

After travelling in for abt 15mins. we finally saw the sign " Welcome to Bottle Tree Village ", den we saw some chinese wordings!! CRAP! CHINESE FOOD!!! haha im not being racist against chinese or anything (im chinese anyway) but we all expect that it was western.. aww well, i think i will eat the usual hor fun.. haha.. thats wad i always eat when i go to chinese eateries. haha

Indeed, it was situated next to the beach.. hai! but the beach was so dark and the scenery was.. breathtaking! Views of Forest, Refineries from JB, Police Coast Guard boats patorlling the sea... zzz how breathtaking.. anyway..

back to food.. some stuff we ate: pls dun drool on my blog for those who are reading this.

ok the rest were normal stuff. Food wise, it wasnt anything spectacular.. but i did enjoy the company of my gf and her family. haha. we had short breaks of fireworks display... from the Malaysia side.. haha (abit duh right? singapore play fireworks = wan to die ar?) it kinda reminded me of Marina NDP haha! but well.. we ended the day by playing wif lanterns (given free by the restuarant) since it was lantern festival the very next day.. and u noe wad...

I BURNT 2 LANTERNS!! MUHAHAHA!

.. my gf's sis was quite sad abt it. I wanted to take more lanterns to burn since it was free.. but time was short.. haha sigh

anyway.. i love playing wif fire.. seriously.. had that evil habit since i was in primary school.. im sure there are some people out there that haf the same habit as me. lol.

Happy 20th Birthday to Me!

Trying out Blogger for Word on Microsoft 2003. haha. Anyway, I think my blog grow spider again.. really long since I last update. the spellcheck for word is damn irritating.. so many green and red lines under my words as I type … zzzz.. mayb next time I shld write in proper English haha!

Many things happened over the past 2 weeks. Well, I celebrated my birthday on 12th of September. Zzzzz im no longer a teen! I hit 20 already.. zzz.. I think its time to settle down, start a family.. haha.. well.. I think I beta go uni and concentrate on my studies.. if not my future wife would look down on me.. which I dun wan that to happen! Haha.. I had a simple dinner at my grandma’s place.. nothing too extravagant. But what I enjoyed best abt the celebration was the family warmth that I experienced that night.. quite unforgettable to see my whole family.. which included my grandparents and auntie, to celebrate my birthday.

Well.. one more yr to hit the 21 mark.. which I can watch RA movies and go clubbing like no one’s business.. but sadly, I dun watch RA movies nor go clubbing. Haha.. dun ask mi why.. I juz dun.. Thanks for all those who wished me happy birthday, I felt really appreciated that I wasn’t forgotten.. haha… for those who haven.. well, its still not too late and u can wish mi now.. haha

Sigh, these few days not very good to do DO duty.. well, at least in my point of view.

Did duty ytd again.. the last one of the month! hurray! Although im quite happy that i haf cleared my 2 duties for the month of Sept. In my last post, i talked abt how suay i was doing the last duty.. kenna investigating officer blah blah blah.. this time. it was no better.. i used to think that doing duty.. as long as got no incident.. was a breeze.. but hell no.. i kenna 2 incident ytd.. and that was not the worst thing that happened to me ytd. zzzz

It was the first time doing an incident report on my duty.. the past duties were really a breeze, no joke, no major incidents, nothing much happening.. that was in the past.. zzz.. ytd, i had to write 2 reports.. one motorcycle accident, and the other.. attempting suicide.. ok.. to make it sound nicer.. the guy had suicidal thoughts.. argh wad the heck.. its the same.. bcos of these 2 incidents.. i had to write the report for them.. zzz.. i literally mean write!!

OA was down at 7pm!!! how u expect mi to send the UIR and Reports to the respective units?.. zzz guess human haf been relying on t3chnology too much. damn! i had to handwrite the whole report myself and fax it over.. well i did had a little help from my duty clerk Yi An. so thank God for him! so we waiting till 11pm (the time we were suppose to send the report) .. but OA was still down.. so we started to write the report.. zz.. by the time we finish.. it was already 230am! wad the crap.. the last time i did duty. i also slept at this odd hour. zzz.. so tired now.. wanna slp already..

anyway.. my duty is over.. i did my job as a duty officer.. and im proud of it! Cheers !

Crap! i haf to type again!

Wah lao~ i wrote quite a lengthy post and my i-net d/c when i click publish post. Den when i click back and refresh.. my post gone! sianz half!

Well, here i go again. The reason why my blog grow spider web is because i haf been quite busy these few days.. hai~ alot of things happening in camp now..

1. Post NDP recovery - logistics and stores etc.. zzz..
2. Investigating officer for a break in case for my camp.. zzz x 2
3. Defending officer for a assault case in my camp.. zzz x 3

actually, no. 2 was pure bad luck.. damn suay lor.. actually not i investigating officer wan... cos the incident happen on last fri.. den i suay suay went to change duty wif ghim chuan.. so no choice.. the duty officer for the day must be the investigating officer.. zzz. by the time i interview finish the suspect, eat finish my dinner.. it was already 9pm!! zzz x 4. You noe wad time i finish the report? 3am!!! and i used to think doing duty in camp was such a breeze.. breeze no more man!

actually, my gf also stayed up till 3am to wait for me b4 she slp.. haha.. and she claim she did it FOR me.. haha.. ya right.. u guys wanna noe the truth.. she was actually really happy that she could gif herself an excuse to watch her mongolian show on VCD! haha..

anyway, i really wanna thank my OC for helping me with the interview.. i think through his experience, he could draw out much more infomation from the suspects who in the end admitted to wad they did. He also stayed back till 7pm to haf dinner wif mi.. awww.. so sweet right.. this kind of OC where to find sia. haha.. (zzz he forced mi to type this paragraph..) =X oh ya.. he treated dinner at the mess too.. woots! i dun haf to pay a single cent! haha. well.. i pushed my luck and asked him to stay in so he could accompany me.. well, u shld noe the answer. haha.

anyway, to sum it all up .. i thank God the preliminary report for the break in has already been completed.. and NDP logistics are more or less settled.. so im left wif the defending officer case for the assault.. zzz..

u noe.. i feel like im being ultilized as much as i can. talk abt being a dynamic army.. even the people haf to be dynamic.. i feel like a storeman (carry NDP stores), policeman (get clues, interview suspects) and a lawyer (help to do up a mitigation plea for the accused) zzzz.. wonder if the society will take this into consideration if i add that in my resume. haha.. i think alot of companies would wan me..

What a great way to start the 1 week OFF! By doing DO! ARGH~..

cant believe it.. really.. hai~ thank God its going to be over.. i juz tell myself, sleep, wake up, hand over.. and thats it.. approx 12 hours time.. i will be at home enjoying myself.

Well, since now that NDP is over, the time has come for me to go back to 5SIR. But, i tell myself, what will i be doing in 5SIR if i go back, my future seems uncertain. Somehow, a part of me tells mi not to go back as i haf made many new friends in the brigade and i work under nice bosses (my OC forced me to say he's nice, if not i will get into trouble. haha =X). 5SIR would be going to brunei next month for Lancer training.. so if i go back, do i haf to go along wif them? For one, my military fitness is not at the most ideal lvl. and the other qn is.. what will i be doing if i go back 5SIR?

hai~ many pple ask mi this qn if im going back? i really dunno.. its up to S1 5SIR, who is in charge of manpower. to decide my future.. for now.. juz read my blog for the latest updates.

Well, wonder if i kept u guys in suspense long enough.. lol =)

As you guys noe, i was eyeing both creative zen neeon and creative nano plus and was in a serious dilema in which to choose. Well, juz to let u guys noe.. i got my mp3 player at the most unlikely place. Not sim lim, not some electronics departmental store... but at the Local Brands Village during the Carnival@Marina! How shocking is that? haha.

The story goes..

On the 4th day of the carnival, Me, my dys4 and my OC HQ were making our rounds around the carnival to check on 3 things,

1. Check whether toilets are clean (me and my OC actually cleaned 2 of the mobile toilets! and guess wad we saw in one of them =) )
2. Check if the waste was properly disposed off and whether the waste company come often wif the dump truck to transport waste out of marina.
3. Distribute Flyers (i noe we r not the ones in charge of this.. but wif 750k more copies of the carnival guide, we had to resort to this)

so during one of our tours around marina (in a buggy of cos), we chanced upon a stall selling thumb drives and mp3 players. At first, i didnt wan to even patronise the stall cos at that pt, i tot that these kind of stalls sell things sure very ex. But when i found out that my OC bought a 1GB thumb drive for $79 bucks! (mind u, outside, its hard to find a 1GB thumb under $100) i went to try my luck and see wad mp3 players they had on sale.

this is wad they had for sale,

1. Ipod (too common)
2. Samsung XP-IA (quite small)
3. Creative Zen Neeon
4. Creative Nano Plus

Though the varieties were few, the 2 creative mp3 players that i wanted to choose from were available for sale (God's way of making fun of me haha) Still, it didnt help after the girl attending to the stall told mi the pros and cons of both creative mp3 players. I was like telling myself.. "ok girl, i haf done my research and noe the pros and cons already, how abt tell mi the price" haha. of cos, tell her that will hurt her so i pretended to be interested and listen to her. haha. Side note: She is from Singapore Poly in her final yr doing her attachment phase. (dun ask mi how i noe haha)

The price that she sold was $309 for the creative zen neeon, at this pt. my mind was set on the creative neeon. but price was the major factor on why i didnt buy at the spot. I told her that i did my research and sim lim quoted the best price of $275. Tried bargaining abit (for abt 30mins actually, my OC, who was standing beside mi, stood there and watch show - Royston Vs the Girl from SP) hai~ she refuses to gimme $265, which was quite a steal haha.. finally.. i gave in as i haf a soft spot for girls (=X) (juz wonder why she kept saying her boss is going to kill her) haha

so, the truth is out, the Creative Zen Neeon is right in my hands now, though i didnt get it at $265, i tot that at $275, it was already really cheap. haha!

A few things i found out abt my OC during this incident:
1. He buys things at any price (like it, buy it at the spot)
2. He changes handphones everyday (okok.. i exaggerated.. once every... 2weeks?) lol
3. He has a $300 Gucci Wallet (*stunned)
4. He claims he is poor (yar right)
5. He has a Nokia 8800 which cost him $1.4k (i bet he didnt check for the cheapest price!) lol

but unfortunately, he is attached haha. so.. in the mean time, other girls out there haf no chance. haha! =X

ok. I haf been eyeing for an mp3 player for almost 3 months already!

haf always been ai mai ai mai in terms on deciding whether to get one or not. Reason? its never easy to let go a large sum of money.. esp when it comes from ur own savings. Anyway, the reason why i bought an mp3 player is because i tot it was finally time to get one (at a reasonable price of cos) and since i had some savings of abt $200 last month, i decided dat it was time!

Zen nano plus uses an external batt, so if batt dies, juz take out and change. Neeon uses an internal batt which cannot be taken out.. so if batt dies, sucks thumb and only can reach home to charge and listen. Also if ur neeon internal batt spoil.. and after 1 yr which warrenty expires, sucks thumb, must buy a new one. (not a new batt.. a new mp3 player!).

Woots. Fireworks was great! It sure ended the carnival with a great big bang! Loved the curly curly wirly wirly fireworks. Too bad i didnt take any pics.. but i do haf a video of the fireworks though.. will try to figure out how to upload them later.

Well, it sure marks the end of the carnival.. as i was enjoying the fireworks wif my gf, many things went through my mind...

1. Firstly, my future in 3SIB, will i return to 5SIR?
2. Carnival is over! ( or izzit? ) ... suspense music plays in the background..
3. I haf a day's OFF tomorrow! ( or izzit? ) /suspense music gets louder.....

Well, much to my dismay, my OC asked me to go back marina on monday.. EVEN though it was an OFF day. Cos we got some logistics stuff to settle, some metal barricades to be exact.. I asked if my OFF would be paid back another day, hai~ this is wad he said:

"An officer should not be fussy over a half day OFF "

Sigh~, wonder why this sentence kept replaying and replaying in my mind. At that point in time, i was thinking, " Hey officers are humans too and they need rest! " but i guess if the responsibility is there, i must be UPz for it! Blame Spiderman... why? cos he reminded everyone that

"With great power comes great responsibility." hai~. Sucks thumb. haha.

well gtg slp early.. my OC owes me a big one.. haha.. dash my hope of sleeping in till late. (something which i haven been doing for a really loooong time!) sucks thumb x2.

Overview of the Food i eat in Marina

Since its the last day of Marina, let mi bring u guys back on the past 8 days on the food i ate in Marina. Haha, since im on the topic on food, i might as well continue talking abt food.

Being in Marina for the past month has really been a torturing time for mi when it comes to meal times. Yes, i must admit, i skip most of the SFI food and only eat when there is pizza hut or kfc indented.. However, eating at the coffee shop is not a long term solution to my hunger problem as i almost eat the same old thing over and over and over and..... (you get wad i mean..)

This is what i haf been eating for breakfast:

Fried Bee Hoon
Carrot Cake (pics attached)
Fishball Noodles (pics attached)

And for lunch.. .... .... ... as well as dinner -_-"
-SFI! (yuck~)
-Prawn Mee (not bad, but at $4 a plate.. zzzz)
-Chicken Rice! (local delight =) )
-Indented KFC and pizza hut ( eat till i sianz, gonna avoid these food for the next 2 - 3 months)
-Extreme - when im really sick of the food in marina, i skip lunch

As you pple can see.. im quite sick of the food.. lucky today is the last day.. i doubt i will be coming to marina for a long long time.. not even for steamboat haha.. unless im being forced at gunpoint?

okok, the main focus of this post is....

I CELEBRATED MY 44th MONTH ANNIVERSARY WITH MY GF AT MARCHE AGAIN!

well the reason why we went MARCHE again is because we wanted to try something new instead of the usual pizza and rosti. We brought dex and charl along for the company and boy did we haf fun. As compared to the MARCHE at Heeren, i feel that MARCHE in SUNTEC is much better that HEREEN in terms of food quality.. the only thing i wanna complain abt the SUNTEC MARCHE is.... NO FREE BREAD WHEN U BUY MUSHROOM SOUP!

A list of food that me and my gf ordered in MARCHE:

1. Mushroom Soup
2. Rosti (again -_-")
3. Chicken Teppan (my order.. it was nice)
4. Grilled Salmon (though it was delicious, my gf ate half only.. couldn finish zzz)
5. Potato Wedges (didnt noe why my gf ordered that cos she ate abit and didnt wanna eat anymore -_-"x2)
6. A bottle of Snapple Apple

Well, i enjoyed the food there even though charl went crazy and bought a glass of red wine that cost $12 and he only took a sip and didnt wanna drink it anymore.. haha.. forgot to tell u he is filty rich.. dad juz bought a car for his sis.. his turn will come soon, trust mi. Took a few pics there, even though i was told that no photographs were allowed in MARCHE, i wonder why haha

The Last Big Bang of the year!

For those who still doesnt noe, Celebrate Singapore Fireworks Festival 2005 will end on the 14th of Aug. Fireworks are done by the French Team, so do expect something BIG! Well for those who didnt noe, the past 3 fireworks were done by different teams from different countries.

6th August - Team from Portugal
8th August - Team from Singapore!!
9th August - Team from Singapore!!
14th August - Team from France

Well, dun say i nv tell you guys in advance, the fireworks will start at 8pm at the Marina South soccer field. Some of you people might enjoy these fireworks on sunday.. but for me.. it will only tell mi that.... the fireworks mark ......

Looking forward to the end of the carnival and will haf a one full day OFF! on monday 15th Aug.. followed by a one week OFF-in-lieu starting on the 22nd Aug. but quite sianz cos i got one more weekend duty to clear on the 21st aug!

Wow, everyday i haf been reaching home past midnight..

Sat = 2am
Sun= 230am
Mon=1am
Tues=1150pm (this is actually the earliest i reached home!)
edit: Wed = 9pm! <-- low key day! woots! finally..

everyday, i report every morning at 8am at marina.. so u can imagine how much i rested over the past 4 nights.. hai~.. life during NDP is really tough.. hope i do get some encouragement from my friends reading my blog! haha

Carnival@Marina

Ok. Lets start.....

The Carnival@Marina kicked off slow... real slow. Could not adapt to the surge in crowd as the time passes.. we really didnt expect that much pple to turn up so early.. But thankfully, we manage to control everything. Something was really dragging the carnival.. and that was the weather.. It was really really hot, at some point, i thought that i was LOST in the Sahara, or mayb somewhere even worse... hell.. hai~ walking from one place to the other was quite a chore for me.. From the static display to the food village took me a good 15 to 20mins walk.. of cos, it may talk abt 45mins if there are girls for me to oogle.. (oops!) haha.. j/k. ok, a brief introduction at the carnival

BDE CP: Out of Bounds to the public. The place where i hang out the most and blog.. =) this command post is the HEART of the Carnival, all decisions, changes and meetings are held here.

Static Display: Think Army Open house =)

Food Village: Think Foooood.... Expensive, lousy, period.

Carnival Rides: Bronco, Rhino, Fire engine (-_-"), lightstrike, rides.. My gf enjoyed the Adventure ride bcos she was smart enough to choose the front seat.. her friend at the back kenna mud.. bad girl... haha. Complained that Bronco very noisy.

Dynamic Show: A show put up by army, police and SCDF. Quite entertaining to see our nation's defence force. =). Proud to be in the army... but for only 2 years.. haha!

Fireworks! The most entertaining and interesting part of the whole carnival! Would love to see them again and again and again. Couldn enjoy it wif my gf cos i was tied down wif something.. Hai~ i had to usher Mr President.. haha got up close wif him... was the first time i actually see the president so close. haha.

My day ended at 1am!.. zz by the time i reached home.. it was abt 2 to 3 plus.. hai~ i expect every day to be like dat..

by the way, the crowd who turned up for the concert and fireworks was... huge! haha.. close to 50k~ a rough estimate.
